Amber Schlatter
Associate Attorney
Amber Schlatter started as an Associate Attorney with Lowery, Lowery & Cherry, PLLC in August of 2023.
Amber earned her B.S. in Sociology from Tennessee Technological University before obtaining her Juris Doctorate from the Nashville School of Law in 2023. During her time in law school, she was recognized for her excellence in legal research and writing, placing second in the school’s rigorous writing exercise for her compelling argument on the unconstitutionality of executing individuals with serious mental illnesses, a cause she is deeply passionate about. Advocating for the rights and fair treatment of those with mental illnesses is at the heart of why she chose to go to law school, and she is committed to using her legal expertise to drive meaningful change in the field.
Amber is a Michigan native and proud Big Ten fan who passionately believes the Michigan Wolverines deserve a spot in the national championship every year – and she’s always ready to debate why. In her free time, she stays active, indulging in an array of pursuits. Amber loves hitting the hiking trails, breaking a sweat at the gym, and even dabbling in the art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Amber is also an avid adventurer, reveling in the thrill of travel and immersing herself in new cultures. When she’s not on the move, Amber finds joy in playing the piano and getting lost in a good book. She even keeps an extra copy of her favorite, Love Does by Bob Goff, ready to share with anyone in need of a good read.
Community Service:
Amber's journey in serving the community began in 2013 when her parents made her volunteer for a trash pickup event in Nashville. The reason? She had convinced a Blockbuster employee that she was mature enough to rent an R-rated movie, even though she was only 17 at the time. A few years later, Amber decided to continue her community involvement (by her own volition) and give back to the sport that had helped her build self-confidence and taught her the values of mental toughness, discipline, and hard work. From 2015 to 2019, she volunteered as an assistant wrestling coach for the Putnam County school system, working to establish middle school teams at Avery Trace, Prescott South, and Algood Middle School. Amber loved seeing the kids reap the benefits of hard work and learn the importance of perseverance.
In the fall of 2025, Amber is thrilled to be taking on a new role as an adjunct professor at Cumberland University, where she'll be teaching The American Judicial Process. She's really looking forward to engaging with the students and getting involved in the Wilson County community.
